“Aid Mission when Guázaro floods due to lasting rains.”

Guazaro Inundacion

In December of 2010, during a period of long and heavy rains, the village of Guázaro on the Caribbean coast of Veraguas flooded when the river level rose and the local people were soon short of food, medicine and other basic necessities. The Fundación Alianza Caribe cooperated with the Red Cross and send people, funds, food and other basic necessities to the area by boat from Miguel de la Borda in order to help. Fortunately, after a few days the water level lowered and all the people from Guázaro survived.
